The Coiling Canopies
Makantor Territory
Antebellum: The Five Nations RP Owen-kim-2v1
Art by Owen Kim

The smell of ash and death rose to the skies, permeating and spreading throughout the forest. Makantor territory was in flames, trees burned and beasts killed. Silidar bodies lay on the ground with burns and holes incinerated through them. It was a massacre. Screams of both silidar and beast echoed in the forest amidst the crackles of the blaze. Vetran moved methodically, their tactics cold and calculated, merciless and inexorable. Squads of them scattered the reptilian natives, striking using their superior technology and range. One squad in particular was outside of the Makantor city's limits, itself a burning ruin behind them. Their armor gleamed underneath the moonlight and flame, there was no flesh to be seen on them, just the unfeeling steel. To their right, screams of beast and rider alarmed them, and a hooded figure amongst the Vetran raised his hand. The beast riders rode huge rhino like creatures, with three horns protruding from a shield like face. The silidar on them raised their spears and screamed their battlecries. The vetran squad moved to meet them in a line, lance like weapons extended from their backs then rested on their shoulders, brightlances. With a slow hum and a sudden flash of light, the brightlances fire, piercing through the shield like carapace of the beasts and punching right through to their riders. Most of the beasts fell with their riders but those that had come through stood on their steeds in anticipation. The hooded leader spun his hand in the air then closed it in a fist. Two vetran soldiers pushed through the line and spread their palms forward, projecting a blue field of energy. The beasts crashed on the shield, killing them from the impact alone. It's lone rider was flung into the air and tumbled behind the squad. The leader approached the silidar, who seemed to have broken his legs in his fall and clutched his scorched shoulders. The beast rider fixated his eyes on the invader, burning the image of the unfeeling vetran as his dying sight.

The leader stepped on the silidar's chest, slowly applying pressure and the defiant silidar clutched both hands at his feet, attempting to get it off to no avail. The vetran leader then pushed harder until he heard the satisfying crunch of bone and waited until the arms fell limp to the corpse's side. The leader raised his hand in triumph.

"May the light of the Imperium burn bright! May the illuminating words of our Sun-blessed Exarch purge these lands of the savages! All hail the Imperium!" He pumped his hand into the air and the rest of his squad followed suit.

"All hail the Imperium!"

"All hail the Imperium!"

Immarrow City
Tryssa Volg, Xerkin Shayatin & Knight Jack, Inside of [Untranslated Name of Pub]
Gyssa screamed and her coworker backed against the wall in fear of what Xerkin had done. The rest of the silidars inside of the pub growled, alarmed by the sudden gore but invigorated by the promise of a good fight. Knight Jack and Tryssa Volg watched as the rest of the pub mobilized against them. Several large silidar rushed towards the two human-like creatures only for Xerkin's tentacles to intercept them. The male hollowed was quick to take on as many silidar as he could, turning into a storm of tentacles and blind rage. Tryssa and Jack then decided to take on either side of the male hollowed, careful to stay out of their allies way.

It was then when the pub was nothing but bright light that was immediately followed by a deafening explosion. Tryssa and Jack then awoke to a collapsed building with Xerkin shielding them both using his body. The massive hollowed male shook off a bit of rubble from his back and relaxed, his form normalized and he was back in his usual stature with a minor crack on the top of mask. The entire building was destroyed with silidar under some feet of stone.

It was utter chaos. The night sky was now stained with an ominous orange red, coarsed by the occassion line of white light that seemed to strike at the flying silidar.

Peladryia Arvona, Immarrow Hospital
Peladryia waited she was only accompanied by the silence and the dead. It was apparent to her that the enemy had arrived on the silidar's doorstep without warning but found the peace in here finally liberating. However, the windows were quick to spill pale bright light that accompanied an earth shattering explosion. The medic felt the floor beneath her quake and lost her footing. The blast was then accompanied by two more, again shaking the foundations of the city itself but fortunately missed where she was entirely.

If she had to do anything, she had to do it fast. She could hear the cries of the silidar. Cries of war.

Arthur Cadwell & Luke Kowalski, Near the Entrance of the Tunnels
Once Arthur and Luke found an agreement they set out to find their allies. Without warning, it turned day. Arthur and Luke instinctively looked to the sky and saw three large balls of light falling from the sky. Luke was quick to recognize Vetran artillery and was about to warn Arthur of the brightcannons before the first salvo impacted the mountain face. A bright flash of light and the mountain collapsed, the resulting avalanche of stone crushed structure and silidar alike, their cries muffled and deadened by the second salvo, striking a bit further away from them. Arthur and Luke couldn't find the footing to stand and fell on their bottoms, only to see the final salvo strike the entrance, destroying it entirely and sending rubbled into the air.

The Immarrows were quick to mobilize, their able bodied immediately moving towards the the direction where the salvos came from. They saw silidars who could take flight, some even brought warriors with them. Streaks of light shot the sky, striking at the flyers with deadly force. Luke watched in dismay, as weapons he's come to know as allied were now pointed at them.

Tryssa wobbled up to her feet and looked around at the destruction. She very much did not want to be caught up in the middle of this conflict. Her knees bucked as she lazily took a step. After letting out a hard sigh she turned back to Xerkin and Jack, “should.. find the others.” Tryssa’s body was warm from the alcohol she had consumed, and she was feeling quite jovial even during such an immense situation. “Pel will be with the wounded... follow them.” She very much wanted to ride on Xerkins back, though she felt it would cross a line to ask him.

Peladryia sighed, watching the red water ripple inside the basin. Despite how quiet and peaceful almost the hospital got, there was no such thing as true silence for her. There was always some noise. Moments after she thought that however, there was a flash outside, brighter than day, illuminating the whole interior of the building. For a very split second everything actually went completely quiet, before her head flooded back with thoughts, the most audible of them being

Fuck.

Pel hunkered down in response to the tremor, that shook the whole building. She slowly straightened herself back up, carefully watching the ceiling as if it were to fall down any second. The structure held thankfully, for now. "I believe it's about time we leave." The girl murmured to herself. "However..." Her gaze stopped upon the Silidar bodies and her eyes darkened.

-=-=-

Peladryia left soon enough, casually waltzing out of the hospital as if everything around was just fine. Her eyes were glued to the orange sky, lit brightly by fire and streaked with Vetran artillery. If not for the awfully violent and destructive nature of it, it'd be a sight to behold. Pel would trace the trajectory of the artillery, trying to find its source and piece the whole situation together, as her brain worked at full speed trying to figure out what to do next. She could just leave. They all could. While it couldn't exactly be said that it wasn't their war, it definitely wasn't their fight. But at the same time... there was potential here.

Even though it seemed like the girl completely spaced out in front of the soon to be gone hospital, she were more than aware of her surroundings, ready to act upon potential danger.

Jack was supposed to guard Xerkin's flank, brandishing his wooden shield to deflect any attacks. While it could deflect anything with his skills, it wasn't designed to take anythin-

His thought was cut short by an explosion. Before he knew it, he was cradled by Xerkin, protecting him and Tryssa from an explosion and debris. Jack looked around but he failed to find nor recall anything resembling explosives. The alcohol was an option, but the origin of the explosion was from the roof, not the bar. He raised himself up from the giant's embrace when he noticed his missing armament, his sword in particular. He patted Xerkin reassuringly and pointed himself toward the rubble. He dashed around, avoiding any unstable footing and grabbed himself his fine steel blade.

Jack noticed a corpse of the lizard guard that picked a fight with him. It laid there, dead with a crushed head. It wasn't lucky enough to have his client protect it as he himself did. Slightly shameful for a bodyguard, but Jack considered himself to be a bodyguard-in-training and took it in stride. He sliced apart the bony tail end of the lizard, taking it as his prize: a bone knife.

Jack headed back to the group, using his knife to sharpen the tail and form a grip for it. He recalled his vine whip in progress, but with the explosion signaling a new turn of events, he couldn't help but sigh about wasted efforts.

"As Tryssa said, let's follow the wounded," Jack chimed in after Tryssa's words lingered in the air, "Let's make sure we aren't too inconspicuous amidst the chaos. It's unlikely, but we wouldn't want to find ourselves the new targets for the explosions." He jogged forward, motioning the others to follow him.

Xerkin's hood matted to his form as the blood oozed from his torn shoulders. His frame had shrunken back significantly, and even in his moment of panic his instincts guided him to protect others. He felt ill, sick to his stomach, and it took all of his will to hold down his lunch.

"We.. we should go back to the others... shouldn't we?" He stammered out, his two largest claws wrapping around himself in a false embrace. "At our camp? Pel would be with the hurt.. wouldn't she..? I don't know what to do..."

Be inconspicuous...? How could he do that. He's a giant multi-limbed monster. An idea did brew though, and he grabbed a nearby tablecloth before fashioning a makeshift cloak out of it.

Arthur stood up and dusted himself off.

"Well there goes the entrance. At least we're not stuck in there now thanks to you. Let's hurry and find the others. We can start searching at the camp"

Arthur wanted to regroup before more explosions occurred, so he set off quickly. He was sure to not out run his friend, and kept up a steady pace he was sure he could follow until they made it back.

His homeland's weapons were pointed...at him. That was something that he had expected, but had never wanted to see. Thick clouds of dust began to rise, along with the sickening cries of the wounded. The thunderous roar of artillery echoed all around, a unrelenting thumping that seemed to pound at his ears like a well-trained boxer.

What terrible efficiency, he thought, as the "lucky" fliers that weren't instantly vaporized fell down from the skies. Part of him wanted to curl up into a ball, but his survival instincts screamed at him to run.

And run he did, after Arthur told him to hurry and find the others. As he kept pace with Arthur, the sounds of war reached crescendoed, rising ever higher and higher.

Tryssa Volg, Xerkin Shayatin & Knight Jack, Ruins of [Untranslated Name of Pub]
The trio moved along the sidelines, avoiding most of the silidar as they did. They hadn't been marked by the eyes of the apex reptiles, bigger threats laid themselves in front of them and they were eager to get into battle. Corpses fell from the sky and the vetran bombardment continued, three more star like salvos scarred the sky with their light and crashing on the mountain face. It didn't hit anything, fortunately but it seems they've been firing blindly.

It didn't take long for them to see an unmoving figure in front of a structure. It was not hard to pick out their party members. Even amidst the chaos, one could recognize Peladryia Arvona.

Peladryia Arvona, Immarrow Hospital
The sky screamed at its scarring, three more star-like salvos crashed onto the mountain face. There were no more wounded being corralled into the hospital but found herself quick to notice a figure that stood out in the crowd: a massive hollowed with a pale mask. Xerkin.

Arthur Cadwell & Luke Kowalski, Near the Entrance of the Tunnels
The two were quick to decide that it was best to find their allies, the tunnel would have to wait.. they knew where it was. That is until the three more savlos, Luke recognized to be Starfalls, crashed onto the mountain again. Two made direct hits at the top of the entrance and another missed it completely. Rocks fell on unsuspecting silidar, crushing them, some caught and threw it elsewhere. Arthur and Luke made it to the center of the city and noticed a familiar sight: the hulking figure of Xerkin, their hollowed friend.

Immarrow City
The party's attention was suddenly snatched towards the entrance of the city, a powerful blast of sound and light threw rubble and flesh into the air. Several squads of Vetran appeared from smoke and dust, their brightlances trained on the silidar that were down or close enough. Their metallic bodies a clear contrast to their opponents. Their eyes, what used to be very human, now machine, cold and merciless.

One of the Vetran walked forward, his armor decorated with a golden filigree and two brightlances attached on his shoulders. They were shorter but seemed to pack the same punch as the regular ones. He removed his hood to reveal his steel head, two tubes connected his head to a thin backpack and instead of two, he seemingly had three eyes: the third right above the two others. "Behold, brethren, the another savage domicile. Show them the light of the Exarch's words! Show them the error of the flesh and flay them of the mistake. May the sun-blessed be the true herald of peace and order." His voice boomed across the city, loud and strong for all to hear.

"All hail the Imperium!"

"The Sun-Blessed are immortal!"

"These savages mark themselves the true apex of nature," the leader walked forward, his brightlances seemingly automatic, firing at every angle and without a visible signal. "We are the true apex of nature. The Sun chose us, blanketed us in its light and showed us the error of our dependency on water and food. We've transcended this and we must share this revelation."

The silidar weren't there to just die however as their forces came in from the sides, suprising the vetran squads. The metal crumpled like paper against immarrow strength, rended asunder from their claws and crushed from their bite. Vetran were quick to change their tactic as the squads retracted their lances and draw swords that seemed to vibrate at intense speeds, cutting through the bone plates of the Immarrow like butter but not enough to fully cut through.

"Have faith my brethren! The Exarch does not leave us behind!" As his brightlances fired at the opposing silidars.

The entrance turned into a bloodbath and it would soon spill into the entire city.

As Peladryia observed the destruction, her gaze swept over the figure of Xerkin and stopped on him for a moment. She wouldn't be able to out-yell the chaos, nor her raising her hands would've done anything amidst it, to capture his attention. She decided to head his way, and even made a first step towards him. Her gaze slipped off of the large Hollowed however, when the gate exploded. It caused her to halt mid step, fully capturing her attention. As the girl observed the unfolding events, listening to the Vetrans' leader speech, her head once more began to ever so slowly tilt to the side. "Do these fools actually believe that?" She asked herself out loud, but even she couldn't hear her voice clearly. Listening to the mechanical, booming voice of the leader, something suddenly clicked in her head, peaking her fascination. As she pieced together what had Silidar told her...there is something she must see and know.

The herbalist stood there frozen in her reverie for a few good seconds, before finally shaking out of it. Her attention once more fixated on the Hollowed towering above the turmoil, as she began to make her way towards him...and the gates past him.
As she walked, the girl removed some slim cylindrical object from underneath her cloak, and began to tinker with it, looking up and around every other second. She'd still have a good moment before she would get into the thick of things, to prepare what she needed. She already had a few plans for the party to consider, but this...didn't quite concern any of them.

Tryssa was visibly annoyed by bodies falling from the sky, explosions, and the fact that she was mixed up right in the middle of all of it. She stumbled away from Xerkin towards Pel. She drunkenly placed a hand on Pel's shoulder and said, "This wasn't part of the deal, let's get the fuck out of here." She looked around and didn't see the others at first, "To hell with Arthur and Luke, let's get outta here.

The Silidar charged with their own attack, and the entrance to the Immarows quickly became flooded with warfare, causing Tryssa to shift her focus in another direction. She noticed both Luke and Arthur and rather than feeling relieved she felt even more annoyed at the idea of leaving becoming more difficult. She turned back to Xerkin and Jack, "Cmon, might as well see what broodfuck these two know." The horned Hollowed angrily, and very drunkenly, marched toward Arthur and Luke.

Once Peladryia was done with one of the cylinders, she pulled out another, and then another. She was at about her fifth, when she reached Xerkin, Jack and Tryssa. As she was pouring some sliver powder into one of the tubes, she stopped a meter or two from them, finishing her task without looking at them. As soon as she raised her eyes however, Tryssa already stumbled upon her. "What happen-..." Pel started, now noticing the sorry state of all three of them, all covered in dust and cuts. She didn't get to finish however, as a wave of Tryssa's slurred speech spilled over her.

let's get the fuck out of here.

"Yes, that's what I'm work-..." Once more she didn't even get to finish, as Tryssa was off already, swaying to the sides. Pel blinked twice, still holding in front of herself a paper tube in one hand, and a pouch in the other. She looked at Jack, then at Xerkin, then at the ruined building they stood by and the artillery-streaked sky. The dots were quickly connected. The girl deftly secured her instruments and hid them away in her cloak, before addressing Jack and Xerkin. "Don't move, I'll get back to you." With an uncommonly fast step for her, Pel caught up to the female hollowed, and by placing her hand on Tryssa's shoulder, basically spun her around mid-step. Placing the other hand on her other shoulder, the healer secured Tryssa in place, as if she tried to get a good look at her face. Pel slightly tilted her head, before she first snapped her fingers twice behind Tryssa's left ear, then did the same thing on the right side, observing the reaction.

Tryssa was marching along until she found everything spinning quickly, and before she knew it she was face to face with a familiar face. “...Pel..? What about..” she went to ask about Arthur and Luke but the small woman surprised her by motioning her hand behind Tryssa’s left ear, and then snapping behind her right, which irritated her. Her horns met Pel’s arm as she head butted her arm away from her right ear after snapping, completely unaware that she had snapped at her left ear prior. “Enough of your tricks, demon...” Her tail moved around nervously, but did good to keep her balanced.

Peladryia frowned a little bit, before repeating the motion behind Tryssa's left ear again. After that, she reached into her poncho, and the second she removed her hand, Tryssa was blinded with a bright light. There was once again one of those wisps floating about, now being much brighter than before, and Pel got uncomfortably close to Tryssa's face, observing the reaction of her pupils and iris to sharp light. "Stay still." She muttered an order.

“What the fuck is wrong with you,” is all Tryssa could get out before being blinded from yet another trick. Her vision was blurred and took a moment to come I to focus, the right side still much quicker than the left. She snarled at Peladryia, exposing her sharp canines. Still, she did not move. “You can play your games later, witch.”

Pel visibly twitched and froze for a split second at the word 'witch', but did not comment on it. She instead raised her hand and the severity of the light severely lessened. She stepped away, but still held Tryssa by one shoulder. The girl let out a sigh as she messaged the bridge of her nose with her eyes closed, before exposing three outstretched fingers in the last effort. "How many fingers do you see, Horns?"

Tryssa spat, “four,” and closed the distance before Pel fully regained her attention on her patient. Teeth found their mark on Pel’s arm that was holding Tryssa’s shoulder. There wasn’t enough force to break the skin, but enough to let Pel know the Hollowed was not comfortable with spending so much time here due to the battle around them, or perhaps because Pel was zeroing in on Tryssa’s shortcoming in front of everyone. Tryssa also gripped the hand Pel used to hold up three fingers, allowing her to focus on it and realize she was wrong. Tryssa’s hand and teeth released their prey as she sighed, “fuck.”

Peladryia's lid twitched, and some surprise showed up on her face, but she didn't pull back her arm at the bite. One would be surprised how many times something similar already happened to her. When Tryssa let go, she retracted her arm however, and rubbed it a little bit. "Not only you are drunk as all hell, but you've got a mild concussion at that..." Pel murmured, more to herself than to the Hollowed. "I've been gone for less than an hour...Come with me." The girl reached out to once again grab Tryssa's arm, but stopped an inch before, and locked her eyes with hers. "Bite me again, and I'll put you to sleep." She threatened with a bored voice, before grabbing onto the Hollowed arm and pulling her all the way back to Jack and Xerkin. "You, sit down, you, keep an eye on her." She first addressed Tryssa, then Xerkin, as she herself approached Jack.

She proceeded with the same process Tryssa had to go through: snaps behind ears, then a flash of light in the eyes. If everything turned out fine, she'd move onto the large, towering hollowed, that had clearly pulled a shorter straw than the other two. She looked at his injuries, then back at the gates where the fights continued. "We've not enough time...Are you fine to continue for a little longer? Can you throw?" Now that was an odd medical question.

Tryssa snickered at Pel's commands, "Don't worry, Pal, you're too malnourished for me. Being bossed around by such a little whelpling, if Tryssa didn't feel like the world was spinning while in the middle of an all out battle while on a quest to assassinate targets from both sides, she would opt to instead make Pel go to sleep. Tryssa did not like the idea of having a babysitter, but at least Pel was smart enough to choose someone competent to watch over her. Sharpened steel claws nervously scratched at the ground as Tryssa watched the fighting. She was in no state to intervene in such violence, and the last time she attempted a massive illusion while in such a state only made things worse... It was only a matter of time until someone noticed or suspected them of being involved, and Tryssa did not care to be around when that happened.

Xerkin was in a state of total confusion as the chaos started. He had no idea what he was supposed to do. Finally, Pel gave him an order that he understood. "Keep an eye on her." And, while he didn't physically answer her, he swore to himself that he'd do as she asked.

"Can you throw?" the question caught him somewhat off guard, and his shoulders were in quite a bit of pain from his injuries, but he wouldn't allow that to disappoint them!

"I- I think so? I can try!" He exclaimed, trying to be heard over the fighting.

When he reached them he gave everyone a glance. They all seemed fine, although a bit beat up.

A few more shavings here, a carving there, and the work were finished. A new Silidarian dagger, made from Immaburrow Silidar tailbone. It would make for a nice accompaniment for his Slitherscale scaled dagger, with a lot less consent in comparison. Then again, couldn't ask for permission from a corpse. Jack put away his knife and eyed at his group, along with the chaotic surrounding. He could feel his presence getting smaller by the minute. His skill set was useless for a war, his weaponry unsuited to fight against Vetran's long-ranged guns. He was unfitting as a Knight to properly accompany his companions, a Hollowed assassin capable of manipulating shadows and a Hollowed giant capable of crushing an armored Silidar with his bare hands. It made him want to discard this foolish persona altogether, a half-assed amalgamation of fictitious virtuous characters to mask his lying, backstabbing self.

Pel approached him after taking care of Tryssa and performed her procedures to heal him of his wounds and aches, restoring him to his previous physical conditions. Now his whip would be able to knock out even an armored gunman, provided he caught them off guard.

"Thank you." Jack said, meekly. He unintentionally let his true emotions out, but kept quiet to not arouse any suspicion nor worry. After all, Peladryia seemed to have a plan for Xerkin, while a mere mortal like him should stay out of the way and keep on eye on his surroundings.

Let's see if there's a stray soldier around here. I can take his weapon and make myself useful. Jack thought to himself. However, he didn't put his plan into action to avoid jeopardizing his team's safety. It was not yet time to fight. Not yet.

Luke had never felt extremely comfortable about talking to groups; he had always preferred hiding away somewhere while working with his hands, or getting someone else to talk for him. But he had enough experience with business to know when information needed to be relayed directly from the source himself.

He straightened himself out, and took a single breath to steady himself. He had so much information to share, but Luke didn't just want to babble it all out in a never-ending stream. He had to compress it, make the facts clear and concise.

"It's been a little while since I've been home, but I know a good amount about these guys. They are from the Church of the Sun Blessed Martyr, a crazed group of people who want to be free of basic limitations such as food and water. They are using two of their standard weapons right now: Brightlances, which the squads are carrying right now, and Starcannons, which fired the salvos that are currently hitting us. The infantry that are attacking right now serve as scouts for the artillery.

We are currently in Phase 1 of 3, where they are trying to stomp out most of the resistance in the town through heavy bombardment. I'm not 100% sure on where their weakpoints are, but I'll guess that for the infantry, you generally want to aim for their pressure points. That's where their power cores are most likely located, and if you cut the power core connecting to a certain limb, that limb stops functioning. Keep in mind, however, that the locations aren't consistent.

I'll explain why later, but they hate me and probably want to get rid of me, so I would prefer that we try and get out of here instead of engaging them directly. "

Peladryia looked Jack up and down curiously when he thanked her. She really didn't do much other than examine him, making sure he was fine until the situation calms down. Thankfully he was nor drunk nor concussed, and had no broken bones or worse. Other than some scratches and bruises, he seemed rather well. Pel decided to simply believe it was a courteous act of appreciation for the little work she did, even if the weak note in Jack's voice pointed elsewhere. "You're welcome...Let me know if something starts to feel off. Daze may yet to come."

She then turned to Xerkin, pondering his answer in silence, as she took a knee. One after another, the healer pulled out the paper tubes from before, and began to tie them tightly together on the ground. There's was a lot at stake for her to trust in a hesitant arm and unsure assumptions. When she began to meticulously but deftly attach thin wires to the top of each tube, intertwining them together into one just above, the purpose of the bundle slowly became somewhat clear. She was yet to sound her decision when Arthur and Luke had finally caught up. True to what she thought, the entrance was in fact here...The problem was that they won't be able to use it.

"Main gate it is then." She announced with an odd kind of confidence that was clearly present, but unsupported by volume or tone. She raised to her feet, picking up the bundle with her, but as she was about to head away, the ever quiet Vetran finally spoke up. The girl turned back to face him, and a small frown entered her face as she listened intently. "What does phase two and three entail, then?" The question was very quick to leave her mouth, barely letting Luke close his.

Antebellum: The Five Nations RP Empty Re: Antebellum: The Five Nations RP

Immarrow City Entrance
"Flesh is the carrier of sin, throw these away and you're left with purest steel. A mirror of the sun's unblemishing light and praise," the preacher continued as he personally dealt with two massive silidar soldiers on his own, tearing the bone plates from skin and boring holes through the flesh. "Do away with sin! Do away with the flesh!"

Several more explosions rock the city itself, buildings crash onto the ground as light itself was weaponized. Streaks of light scored through the air and despite the immarrow's best efforts, they were losing this fight. Spotlights then suddenly flickered from the bottom of the mountain city, flashing upwards towards the sky, moving from one side to another as if they were carried.

Everyone, Immarrow City
Every earth shock was connected to a starcannon blast and the party watched as the entrance was slowly becoming overrun. It even looked as if the city was surrounded,  lights sprung from every side, streaks, stars falls and regular spotlights came from everywhere. Billowing smoke clouds rose from the sides of the mountain like massive trees, obscuring the once beautiful view of the forest. It wasn't a matter of if they wanted to meet the Vetran, it was now a matter of when.

Peladyria Arvona, the few of them that could understand Silith, managed to wring out words from the silidar soldiers as they passed her towards the entrance or other paths. It attacked her in every direction, words of worry, fear, encouragement, news and hearsay. What was more worrying was the news of a large vetran walker that towered over them.

Arthur Cadwell looked back at where they had come from, the tunnel was still in sight and despite an avalanche blocking it, it was partially open.

Once their checkups were complete and Pel directed her attention to Luke, Tryssa, Xerkin and Jack listened in. Knight Jack was first to look away however, noticing and odd number of silidar running from one road of the city. They were visibly female, thinner and less bulkier that carried their injured males off. Jack slowly stepped out of the conversation to peek at the chaos and saw more of the vetran squadron coming from there. They didn't have a preacher among them but what dismayed him was the sight of a massive vetran walker. Its thin limbs seemed too weak to carry its weight but it does and its massive elongated helm bore the insignia of the Church of the Sun Blessed Martyr. Two large objects were strapped on its back, a massive brightlance and a scimitar that matched it. It was a warmachine built for this.

Vetran Walker:

In the shadows of the smoke pillars, were the same shapes as the walker. They were closing in on the city.
